The lifespan of your car battery is greatly determined by the way you use. Under normal circumstances, they are meant to last for around three years. However, with proper care and maintenance, their life can be prolonged to seven years or more. Provided they are correctly charged and used every day.  The best way out is to ensure that they haven’t been discharged completely and recharged several times. The primary reason could be lack of use, low electrolyte levels, excessive discharging, and recharging, corrosion, undetected problems in charging, or the cells are merely damaged if your battery dies down in less than three years.

“Prevention is better than cure” this statement holds true for your car battery too. Before embarking on a long drive you need to ensure that your battery is in excellent condition. You can also carry a second battery or bring a battery bank with you.

Revive Your Industrial Battery

Consider a situation that you have already covered several hundred miles and your car battery suddenly drops old with no centers of battery rejuvenation centers around.  You can try some of these fixes for helping your car battery to revive. These fixes will require certain tools and materials listed beneath:

  1. Distilled water
  2. Epsom salt
  3. Aspirin
  4. Chock
  5. Axle stands
  6. Rope
  7. Chainsaw
  8. 18-volt drill battery
  9. Jump lead
  10. Lighter

The following are the four unconventional ways of old car battery revival: Here you can also find Franchise Business in India

  • Using a solution of Epsom Salt

One of the most common reasons for car batteries dropping old is low electrolyte level. Make use of Epsom salt (chemically called Magnesium Sulphate)for making an electrolyte solution that will certainly prove helpful in reviving and recharging your car battery. Epsom salt has strong acidic properties filled with a large number of hydrates. This might be sufficient to restore chemical balance in your battery and deliver enough charge for starting your engine.

  1. In order to prepare a distilled water Epsom salt solution, you need to mix 1 part of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) with 3 parts of warm distilled water. Add this solution to each cell until the plates are covered by ½ to ¼–electrolyte solution.
  • The Chainsaw Method

In this method, you can use a chainsaw for driving the alternator that is located in the engine and successfully charge the battery.

  1. In this process, it becomes necessary to remove the chain, blade, and the spoked drive sprocket from the chainsaw, which will make it look like a pulley.
  2. Next, you need to remove the drive belts from the alternator. Make sure that you use the belt for connecting the chainsaw drive spindle and the alternator drive pulley.
  3. Engage your drive belt and while applying gentle pressure on the belt start the chainsaw.
  4. Keep running it until it starts to charge the battery.

While this method works there are potential risks because unguarded belts spin at an extremely high speed. You need to be extra cautious while attempting this procedure. If you are unsure stay away from it.

  • Using Aspirin Solution

You can make use of distilled water and aspirin (Acetylsalicylic Acid) to make a solution that will chemically alter the electrolyte mix. To make this solution

  1. Crush around 12(350 mg or 500 mg) aspirin tablet and dissolve the powdered aspirin in about 6 ozof warm distilled water.
  2. Make sure that you add the equal amount in proportion to each of the cell. There may be a necessity to for adding more for covering the plates.
  • The Hard Hand Cranking method

In this method, you need to

  1. Jack fix the rear wheel drive and use axle stands for strengthening its support.
  2. Choke the front wheels securely by placing the chock in the center and square to the tire.
  3. Make sure to put the vehicle in fifth gear while the ignition is turned on. By wrapping a rope all around the drive tire make sure that you spin the wheel in the normal direction of its rotation.
  4. Lastly, you need to really pull hard for turning the engine over and starting the motor.
  • Drill Battery Method
    1. Use the 18-volt Drill Battery Method where you need to makeshift the connection between your old car batteries to the 18-volt drill battery. This will pave the way for drill battery to jump-start the old battery.
  •  Hot Ash Method

Here you need to light a fire and let it burn down to hot ashes. Thereafter, place the battery on the hot ash. The hot ashes will warm the battery up. Reinstall the battery and try restarting ignition.
